I am writing to thank you for the generous scholarship. I cannot express my gratitude for this endowment. My wife is having a baby in three weeks, so this truly is a blessing in our lives. This scholarship will help us to make ends meet while allowing me to finish my bachelor’s degree.

I plan to graduate in April 2006. I will be taking the GRE in August and applying for graduate school in January. I plan to attend Cornell University or University of California, San Diego. I’m currently pursuing research in the discipline of materials science with Dr. Guthrie. I am also involved in some research in hydrology.

Thank you again for providing me and my family this wonderful opportunity. I will always remember this scholarship and work hard to return the favor to a BYU student in the future.
