Lindsey Blumell and Professor Robert Walz, Department of Communications
This was a great undertaking and a great project and I feel so blessed to have been apart of making a documentary about the great life of Kresimir Cosic. It was a process that took almost a year to complete and hundreds and hundreds of hours, but it was all worth it.
I was able to meet a lot of great people and learned a lot from them and from the business. In this process I met and interviewed 23 different people. It seems like a lot, but it was just a few interviews here and a few interviews there so it wasn’t that overwhelming. Some of the interviews included: President Thomas S. Monson, Sen. Orrin Hatch, Truman and Ann Madsen, Gordan Giricek of the Utah Jazz, Phyllis Nibley, and several of Cosic’s family and friends.
In order to prepare for each interview, it took a lot of time and research. I had to search old documents and files and it often took a lot of searching before being able to find the right person. But when I watch the final product I feel like it pays off. The little details make a big difference.
The greatest blessing from doing this project is working with great people that are very experienced in the industry. Working with two great producers (Erin Goff and Robert Walz) was amazing. Working also with a great photographer and editor, Dale Green, was also a wonderful experience. I learned so much and this will last with me for ever.
Since the project was completed, it was premiered at the Varsity theatre to a full audience. It will air on KBYU in the near future and has been chosen for the LDS Film Festival. This is all exciting news and I am very grateful to have received the ORCA Grant to make this all possible. Thank you again for believing in this project and supporting me and Teo Jurdana in this.
